TL;DR: Great controller with mid-level software and one fixable design flaw. I do recommend it if you can handle these due to the number of features packed into the Vader 5 Pro.
Review:
I'm stuck on whether to give the V5P 3 or 5 stars, so 4 it is. There is plenty to love here; the microswitches on the D-pad, XYAB, and triggers are really satisfying, and I?ve had none of the QC issues others have had. Just to emphasize again, the D-pad is exceptional, especially for fighters.
As for the mappable buttons, the hardware is 6/10 for the sole reason that the removable paddles have a chance to break the switches beneath. This is fixable with an aftermarket pad, but it still sucks. The rest of the mappable buttons are 10/10, especially for games where you need quick reactions with a number of controls, like Dead Cell.
For the sticks, they are pretty damn good. Just make sure to calibrate the controller once you open it to remove any drift. Additionally, the tension rings are nice if you need less or more sensitivity but don't want to edit the game or stick settings.
Now there's the software. It's a bit complex, which is OK, given the options it gives you. The English is a bit jank, but considering the value of the controller, that's also OK. What isn't OK is the issues with mapping keyboard inputs. Any special input, such as media controls, will just refuse to work most of the time. Furthermore, polling rate takes a bit of a hit when you use keyboard mappings.
Despite the issues I've raised, this controller is worth the money. There's just nothing on the market at this price point with as many features. With some software updates and a mid-version design refresh, the Vader 5 Pro could truly be the best controller in this price bracket.

I love how the controller feels and responds, but it's a nightmare to set up on my xbox x, I feel you need to make a converter (either built in or external) that is easy to set up directly through the xbox.

Customisation is great, low/high tension stick is a neat trick, and the software works pretty good too. Integrates with steam input albeit a bit buggy at times, not sure who to blame for that.

Considering where it was shipped from the item arrived fairly quick. There was no visible damage to the item and it didn't have stick drift right out of the box (I will say there was minor damage to the box through transportation but it's fine.
The item itself is awesome; apart from not being 8K it has all the features (yes, all) you could possibly want from your controller. It very compact and has a little weight to it when compared to a basic Xbox series X controller. It has a total of 8 additional reprogrammable buttons (so have fun customising). The adjustable tension for the sticks is also good selling point however there are some reports of faults with this feature note: this fault has been addressed on the V2 (version 2) the problem is that there is no way to specify/choose the version of the controller you get. I, of course got the V1 addition and I ordered it directly from the Flydigi website so good luck.

Fantastic controller, very well built. Everything I read online said to use steam input, that didn't work for me at all but disabling stream input and using the app it comes with has been flawless

Vader5 Pro. Fantastic controller. Feels really premium in hand. Pity about the long postage from Western Aus to East Coast. 7 business days.

My second digifly is my go to controller on pc easy to remap buttons and the space station app is easy to navigate.

The best controller I ever owned. Better than controllers sold for twice the price. My Elite Series 2 has been retired forever.

I accidentally ordered a Vader 4 pro before so I have experience with both.
The vader 5 is a great controller and all the buttons feel great. The back buttons all work perfectly for me which was not the case with the Raikiri pro. Flydigi is really doing some good stuff. I went through almost every brand controller and returned them all before sticking with both the vader 4/5.
I do slightly prefer the sticks on the vader 4 mostly because of the larger circular portion. Its also slightly bigger. If you need 4 back buttons the 5 is a must because the layout of the 4 is not great. If you only need 2 then I would consider the 4. Unless you like the smaller build of the X/S style controllers.

I bought this controller after having two wireless xbox controllers fail on me in a short time span. The vader 5 feels more premium and has a wireless dongle for faster response times. The inputs on the controller feel better too. The face buttons feel like pressing a mouse button, which is much nicer to click when compared to the xbox's stiffer plastic. There's plenty of extra buttons and other features you don't see on pro controllers from the console makers. I don't typically use those featrures, but having back paddles and adjustable thumbstick tension is quite the upgrade over what I used to use.
